These are not fluffy cookies, as a matter of principle they are almost see through! Thin, crispy, buttery and little mountains of chocolate chips is how I’d describe them…oh, and very addicting! Full disclosure, I am not anti fluffy cookies!! But I really love these!

The secret to getting them this way is the addition of malted milk powder to the batter. Let’s make them..

Soften two sticks of butter

Add 3/4 cups light brown sugar and 3/4 cups white sugar to the butter and mix well

Mix in 2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

And here’s the magic ingredient, malted milk powder, I sometimes have a hard time finding it but Walmart usually carries it. Add in 1/2 cup of it to batter

In a separate bowl mix together 2 cups of flour, 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda and 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

Mix in the flour mixture a little at a time until fully incorporated

I use a whole bag of chocolate chips, use any brand you like

Mix them all in

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and I like to use a cookie scoop to make all the cookies somewhat uniform in size

I do six to a sheet, these spread so you can’t have them too close to each other

Bake for 10-12 minutes on 350, the longer you bake the crispier the edges will be

Let them cook completely on a rack then enjoy the crispy edges and chocolaty mounds!
