If you've never made homemade candy before, don't let that stop you from making these adorable stained glass candy hearts. This is the easiest DIY candy recipe out there!

Other than the heart molds, you don't need any special tools. It takes very little time. And, best of all, this candy recipe calls for just one ingredient. That’s right, one!

These pretty stained glass Valentine's candies can be made in three simple steps.

To get started, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

If using larger heart molds: place 4 - 6 Jolly Ranchers in each cavity, making sure to alternate colors and fill individual cavities to the top.

If using smaller heart molds: break the candies into smaller pieces. I did mine by placing the unwrapped candy into individual plastic snack bags (one bag per color) and breaking them up into smaller pieces.

Tip: be sure not over-crush, you want small pieces, not dust.

Once they are all broken into smaller pieces, open the bag and put the pieces into the mold. Again, be sure to alternate colors and fill each cavity up to the top.

Next, place the silicone mold(s) on a cookie sheet, put it in the preheated oven, and bake for approximately 7 – 9 minutes.

Keep an eye on the oven because melting can take place quickly. You want to remove the mold as soon as the candy is all melted, but before it starts to bubble.

Pro Tip: if you do get some bubbles, just use a metal spoon to tap them out.

As soon as the candy is melted, remove it from the oven and let cool while still in the mold.

Once the candy has completely cooled, remove them from mold.

And that's it, you are done! Aren’t they pretty?! And they taste great, too!

For an extra sweer Valentine’s Day treat, pair these candy hearts with my free printable Valentine’s Day bag topper (detailed instructions, tips and the link to download treat bag topper is on my blog).
