Sourdough Bread French Toast
What do you do if you have some sourdough bread left over and no one seems to be eating it? Well instead of letting it mold, why not make French toast sticks!
I started by cutting off some of the crust since it was a bit hard for French toast (you can turn this into croutons if you want to be extra diligent on food waste!)
I mixed 1/2 a cup of milk and an egg and whisked, depending on how much bread you may need to double the eggs and milk.
I like adding a lot of cinnamon to our French toast or pancake batter.
Then I soaked each sour dough strip in the batter for a minute or so, using tongues to turn them.
I added them to a greased pan on low heat and cooked on for a minute on each side.
You can make French toast with any bread really, but I personally like thicker bread.
This is a great way to get the fam to eat food they "didn't want" just trick them into thinking its something new!
Look that that yummy stack!
