I have been making kombucha at home for about 8 years. I have killed the SCOBY countless times, and I have tried and failed for different flavors. However, after years, I have a solid base that I love to tinker with. For this variety, I cooked down berries (raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry) into a compote and fermented that along with my black tea - based starter.

Now, if all that sounds like a mad science project to you, DO NOT FRET! I don't plan on explaining the process of making kombucha anytime soon. If that is something you are interested in, there a ton of blogs dedicated to doing just that. It takes a bit of time to get going for the first time, but it really is not too difficult.

Now, I like to find simpler versions, always. Just go buy a flavor of kombucha that looks good to you! If you have never tried it, I recommend getting just a small amount as the taste is not for everyone.

As always, this can be easily made non-alcoholic. Just omit the vodka and add more club soda or ginger beer may be a nice addition here depending on the flavor of kombucha you have.

Kombucha Spritzer
  • ½ C berry kombucha
  • 1 Tbsp simple syrup
  • 1 shot vodka
  • 1 Tbsp club soda
  • Garnish: rosemary
Kombucha Spritzer
This is easy! Combine all ingredients and pour into a glass. Stir and add ice. I like to garnish mine with fresh rosemary. Enjoy!
