This Boozy Eggnog Cocktail takes store-bought eggnog and kicks it up a notch with added brandy, amaretto, and freshly ground nutmeg. This cocktail is sure to be a hit at any holiday celebration or Christmas party. You can serve this cocktail cold or hot and add freshly ground nutmeg and whipped cream to the top! Shake everything in a cocktail shaker for a cold cocktail or warm up the eggnog on the stove for a winter warmer. Ingredients
- 1 oz brandy
- ½ oz amaretto
- 2 oz eggnog
- 1-2 oz milk (optional for a less thick drink)
- freshly grated nutmeg
- whipped cream (optional)
- cinnamon stick for garnish
Instructions
Cold Boozy Eggnog Cocktail
- Add all of the cocktail ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 20-30 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass. Top with whipped cream if desired and grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Serve immediately.
Warm Boozy Eggnog Cocktail
- Warm the eggnog in a saucepan over medium heat. You want it to be hot, but not boiling (you can also microwave the eggnog in a microwave-safe mug for 1-2 minutes depending on your microwave). Once hot, pour the eggnog and liquors into a mug or heat-safe glass. Stir gently, top with whipped cream and nutmeg, and serve immediately.
