Picnics, cookouts, family gatherings, whatever you call it they are always filled with yummy food and if you’re like our family we get all excited when we’re going to have people over so we can cook! These Caprese Ladybug Appetizers are super cute on their own or to add to a cheeseboard or salad!

Nobody will ever believe that these took such little time to put together, grab a few simple ingredients, cherry tomatoes, Buffalo mozzarella (in a log, pre sliced if you can find it!) black olives, fresh basil and balsamic glaze (not vinegar, that will be too thin)

Start by halving the cherry tomatoes, then using a sharp paring knife, cut a small notch at one end of the tomato half

Starting with the slice of Buffalo mozzarella on the bottom, place basil leave on top, then the tomato half

Slice the black olives in half, then in half again the opposite way, you’ll end up with a C shape

Place the olive on the end without the notch as shown

To finish them off, I dipped a toothpick into the balsamic glaze and dotted the top of the tomato, it was thick so it stayed on them fine without dropping off. They really are a fun addition to any get together!
