Why I love my Air Fryer


I never knew how easy cooking using an air fryer was until I went to a friend’s house, and they cooked our meal in their air fryer. It was so quick, and cleaning was a breeze; thanks to the non-stick coating, there’s no need to scrub the cooking basket after every use.

So, I decided to purchase one; now, it’s one of my favorite kitchen appliances. There are so many reasons why I love it!

Also, it’s a healthier way to cook. It uses hot air to cook food, so there’s no need to dip the food in hot oil. As a result, you can cook all your favorite fried foods with little to no oil, and they come out just as crispy and delicious.

But what I really love about my air fryer is how easy it is to use. With just a few simple steps, I can have a delicious and healthy meal on the table in about 30 minutes, a lifesaver on busy weeknights.

This recipe works with 4-quart or larger air fryers. If you’re using a smaller one, cut the recipe in half or cook only half at a time. As a rule of thumb, avoid overfilling your air fryer basket or tray more than 1/3 – 1/2 of the way.

I’ve kept the seasonings very simple in purpose. These simple potatoes are already delicious. You can add any herbs or spices you like to switch up the flavors or match the main course you’re serving them with.

Ingredients to use for this recipe

How to roast potatoes using the air fryer


Since you aren’t peeling the potatoes, wash and scrub them thoroughly.

Cut the baby potatoes in half or into bite-sized pieces. If you aren’t using baby potatoes, you’ll need to cut the potatoes into small, bite-size pieces.

Soaking the potatoes in water for 20 minutes (if time allows) after cutting them can help draw out extra starch. This helps keep the potatoes from sticking together and will be noticeably crispier!

Using a towel, pat dry the potatoes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss them around in the bowl to get a nice coating.

Toss the potatoes in the air fryer basket evenly.

Cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Toss well and cook for another 10 minutes. If your air fryer doesn’t reach 400 degrees, use the closest setting it gives. You may have to add a couple more minutes of cooking time.

Let the potatoes cool down for a few minutes before serving.

You do not have to boil potatoes before roasting them in the air fryer. In fact, boiling potatoes can make them less crispy when air fried. Instead, try cutting the potatoes into small pieces, so they cook evenly in the air fryer.

You can use any type of oil you like for air frying. Extra virgin olive oil is a healthy option that really cooks well. Avocado oil is a great choice, too, because of how hot it can get. Of course, you can always forego the oil, but the seasonings will have difficulty sticking if you do.
