For most Jewish celebrations, there are specific foods customary with that holiday. I guess we are a hungry people. Hamantaschen are cookies that you eat during Purim which typically falls in early spring.

Place 1 1/4 cup flour, 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup powder sugar, 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract and one egg into a food processer and blend.

Mix the dough by hand for 5 minutes, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 20 minutes to cool or in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Then roll out the dough on a floured surface.

It helps to have a cute assistant!

Use a cup to cut about 3 inch circles.

Place your favorite filling in the middle. Nutella or preserves is usually a big hit.

Pinch 3 corners to create a triangle.

Place on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Unfortunately, some of them may fall open in the oven, the Nutella tend to do better then the jam filling in this department. But luckily they still taste delicious!
