What is Moon Milk?

Moon Milk is a warm drink usually made with honey, cinnamon, and milk. In Ayurveda, this warm milk mixture is often used to help people sleep.

While typical moon milk contains ingredients with healing properties, this one contains things that are most likely in your pantry.

Feel free to modify this recipe however you like. This is the bare bones recipe that is incredibly easy to tweak.

You could make simple moon milk with milk and cinnamon alone.

Notes

The addition of PB2 Almond Powder is completely optional. It doesn’t add flavor as peanut butter powder would.

It adds texture and protein and may help you feel fuller after drinking it, which can be helpful if sleepiness is the goal.

Ideally, the pink color in this moon milk is from beet powder. Again, to make this recipe as easy as possible, pink food coloring is used here.

Beet powder will add nutrition to the drink, but it can also provide an energy boost. So, that’s another thing to keep in mind if you’re drinking moon milk before bed.

Another option to get pink milk is hibiscus powder. This will give you a bright fuchsia color and add a berry flavor to the milk.

Edible flowers are typically found in the grocery store by the herbs, but it can be hit or miss at some stores. Call ahead or order online. Also, check farmers’ markets depending on the season.

Serve moon milk at your next fairy tea party with fairy shortbread bites, mini cakes and mini donuts!

Make a warm mug of fairy moon milk the next time you want a bedtime treat.

Feel free to play around with this warm drink and make it as magical as your imagination likes.
