Made with crisp Romaine lettuce, tender chicken, fresh shredded Parmesan cheese, al dente pasta, and tossed in a creamy dressing, bowtie chicken Caesar salad is the perfect summer salad recipe.

Who doesn’t love a good salad in the summertime? And a salad with pasta in it? Count me in! Perfect for a large crowd or for a small family meal, this bowtie chicken Caesar salad recipe is ideal for the summer and does not disappoint!

Summer Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad

Loaded with farfalle (aka bowtie) pasta, this salad is filling enough to be the main dish, or it is great as a side dish too.

Once you try bowtie chicken Caesar salad, you’ll never want to eat another plain old Caesar salad again.

Inredients Summer Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad

  • 2 bunches of Romaine lettuce, washed and chopped
  • 1 bag garlic butter croutons
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
  • 1 (16 oz) box farfalle pasta, cooked
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Caesar salad dressing
  • 1 (2 oz.) bag slivered almonds (optional)

Instructions Summer Bowtie Chicken Caesar Salad

First, cook your chicken breasts as directed on the packaging until they are no longer pink. When it is cool, cube the meat and set it aside.

While the chicken cools, prepare the pasta. Cook the farfalle pasta in a pot of boiling water until al dente (about 15 minutes). When it is done, drain and let it cool.

Next, rinse and chop the lettuce. Add the lettuce to a large salad bowl. Then stir in the cubed chicken, pasta, cheese, almonds, and croutons.

The almonds are optional. If you don’t like nuts or you have a nut allergy, you can skip them. I left them out this time (I forgot to pick some up from the store…oops!), but I love the extra crunch and flavor they add to the dish.

To finish, toss with the desired amount of Caesar salad dressing and serve immediately.

Can You Make Substitutions For The Chicken Breasts?

To speed up the recipe prep time, you can also substitute rotisserie chicken or pre-cooked grilled chicken breast strips in place of the cubed chicken breasts.

Making The Salad Ahead Of Time

Once you add the dressing and pasta, the salad can get a bit soggy, so I recommend waiting until just before serving to mix all of the ingredients together. But if you are tight on time, you can do a little prep work in advance!

To make bowtie chicken Caesar salad ahead of time, cook and cube the chicken and cook the farfalle pasta.

When cool, put each into an airtight food storage container and place both of them in the fridge.

Then, when you are ready to serve, add all of the ingredients to a large salad bowl, mix, and toss with some Caesar dressing.

That’s it! A quick and easy summertime salad with minimal prep. A favorite in our family, it is sure to become a favorite in your home too.
