Comforting Seasoned Rice Pilaf with Mushroom

While I am totally in love with mushrooms now, it wasn’t always the case when I was a kid. When I was young, the mushroom was my least favorite dish. But since it has high nutrient content, my mom would make me eat it.

I’m glad that my parents made me eat it because, over the years, my taste buds have started liking the flavors of mushrooms. Also, this is why I’m in love with this seasoned rice pilaf with mushrooms.

This dish is high in nutrients, and it tastes the best. Once you’ve cooked it, you’ll want to prepare it again. While preparing this dish, you can add a few more herbs or spices because this recipe pairs perfectly with nearly everything.

Steps to Prepare Seasoned Pilaf With Mushrooms

To prepare seasoned rice pilaf with mushroom, you need to follow each step mentioned below correctly.

Step One

The preparation of this dish requires you to wash, peel, and dice one onion. Then you can mince garlic cloves properly. After that, move towards cutting veggies. So, take one carrot and peel it. Finally, dice it in a similar shape so that rice can be cooked quickly.

Furthermore, take 10 oz of mushrooms and clean them properly. Then chop the mushroom in a shape that you like.

Once all the cutting is done, you can heat a pan on medium flame. Add olive oil and butter to the pan and add chopped onion and minced garlic cloves. Cook them for a couple of minutes. Then add carrots and mushrooms to the pan. Stir the veggies for five to six minutes till they get tender.

Step Two

While you are cooking the veggies, you can add spices to them. Start by adding salt, pepper, and paprika. After some time, add ¾ cup of water to the pan and cook the veggies. Then clean the rice under running water. Add it to the pan, and then again add a few cups of water so that the rice can get properly cooked.

Stir the rice to make sure nothing sticks at the bottom of the pan. Then place the lid and let the rice cook for some time. Before turning off the flame, add soup noodles to the dish and cook it for five minutes.

Serve hot pilaf with mushrooms.

Key Notes:

  • While preparing this dish, don’t skimp on the saute time. That’s because the longer veggies will saute, the better they will taste. Longer saute time will help the veggies release juice, further enhancing the dish’s overall taste.
  • There is no restriction to the kind of mushroom you can use for this dish. Generally, I use oyster mushrooms or shimeji. But if you want, you can use any of the mushrooms of your choice. Properly saute the mushroom so that it can release aroma and flavors.

      Hi Michelle,

They are very thin noodles about the diameter of rice. I found mine in Lidl here on Long Island.

The recipe calls for 1 cup of rice but in the written description/instructions, it says to clean 4 cups off rice??

Thank you! And I apologize for not proofreading my question. It should have read, “to clean 4 cups of rice,” not “off.”
