Searching for Shirataki noodles recipes? We made shirataki noodles with homemade sauce and chicken to share with you today.

I decided to try something new today. Have you seen Nasoya Pasta Zero Spaghetti before? Me either, it was a new one for me too!

I thought why not try something new? I added them to my cart, and then they sat in the refrigerator for a week while I thought about it. That was some thinking going on Cara... don't I know it!

I was kind of afraid we would hate them, and then I was not sure how to make them, what if I completely bombed?

Then I decided to throw caution to the wind, and decided let's go Cara, you can do this, and so can you if you want to try a great low carb alternative to pasta.

Here is what they look like, keep them in the fridge when you get them home. I was super surprised by the shelf life. The expiration date was January 2022 which was much longer than I had anticipated.

As you know by now, I am gluten free due to allergies.

Mr. VS loves pasta, but we rarely have it. I decided it was time to try something new around here so that is how we got here.

What you will need:

  1. 1 bag of Nasoya Pasta Zero Spaghetti Shaped Shirataki
  2. 1 onion diced
  3. 1 package of chicken thighs (6 total)
  4. 1 large can diced tomatoes
  5. 2 t garlic powder
  6. 1/4 t basil
  7. 1/4 t oregano
  8. 1/2 t onion powder
  9. 1/2 t dried parsley
  10. Later I added 1/2 t Pampered Chef Italian seasoning
  11. Salt and Pepper to taste

What to do:

  • Dice onion place in skillet with 1 T olive oil
  • Remove chicken from package, place in skillet with diced onion
  • Season chicken and onion with salt, pepper, 1 t garlic powder, 1/4 t onion powder
  • Cook down until chicken is no longer pink (I added my splatter guards)
  • Add in the can of diced tomatoes
  • Add remainder of seasonings (I also added 1/2 t of Pampered Chef Italian Seasoning because I felt it needed a little something extra, love that stuff!)
  • Let simmer
  • Drain spaghetti from bag, rinse, drain again
  • Add spaghetti to pan of chicken and sauce
  • Cover skillet, and turn down heat
  • Serve when ready
  • Grate parmesan cheese over top of dish for added flavor (you could add cheese to your dish as well if you would like it all melted and mixed together)

Total side note: I had to get my Christmas platter out for this dish. Underneath all of that chicken and noodles is my little red truck. I so love those cute platters! I had a friend comment, I know you have all sorts of fancy dishes, how's come you never share them with us? Case and point, you cannot see the cute truck with the food on the plate. LOL.

Tip: I love garlic, if you are not as big of a fan as I am, you can remove 1 t of garlic powder from this recipe. Also, if you do not want to make your own sauce, you can use store bought sauce.

Wondering how the pasta turned out? It was pretty good and I am glad I tried something new. They are a little more firm than regular pasta noodles, but even Mr. VS said they were pretty tasty. He really enjoyed the dish, and he loved the fact I made the sauce too.

If it were up to him, I would make everything homemade, but sometimes there is just not enough time to do all of that every night. I can tell you this is a one pot deal. You know I am all about the easy, I hate clean up, and lots of dishes to do.

Dinner took about 45 minutes total to make. Not too bad for chicken and homemade sauce, huh? Like I said, E-A-S-Y, just the way we like it!

Be adventurous with dinner, try new things, step outside your comfort zone... I really enjoy doing this since dinner can get pretty monotonous, and who wants to feel like they are stuck in a rut night after night? Certainly not me!

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy your holiday. I am planning to get the board games out. I love playing games! We made a few purchases last year when everyone was stuck at home. We enjoyed ourselves, and it reminds me of being a kid again.

What are your plans for the holidays? Getting together with family or staying home? Are you cooking or sitting back and letting others do the heavy lifting? We plan to make a few dishes... maybe a little experimenting this weekend.
