Today I want to share with you my recipe for an all vegan cream-based fluffy pizza - it's ridiculously good!
The inspiration behind this one is actually a PizzaHut pizza. In some European countries, PizzaHut makes a carbonara pizza which has always been my favourite, but for a while now I've lived in a country where they don't serve it. So I've been trying to make my own version of it. I never quite nailed it, but I managed to come pretty close a few times. This is by no means that, as there's nothing vegan about the original, but that's where I got the inspiration for these flavours.

Recipe details
Ingredients
For the base
- 220g all-purpose flour
- 160ml lukewarm water
- One standard sachet (7g) dry yeast
- 1tbsp sugar
- 1tbsp olive oil
- salt, paprika, oregano, garlic seasoning - to taste
For the cream sauce
- 15g vegan butter
- 1tbsp flour
- 1 clove garlic
- 100ml+ vegan cooking cream (I used rice cream)
- seasoning - salt, pepper, oregano
Toppings
- 30g vegan grated cheese
- 50g white mushrooms
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- fresh basil leaves
Instructions
For the base
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in water - wait approximately 5 minutes until it bubbles up
- Mix in the rest of ingredients and knead for a few minutes until the dough jumps back up when pressed lightly
- Let it rest for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size
- Preheat oven to 220C
- Roll out the dough and pinch the edges with your fingers to prevent the fillings from spilling out
- Cover with a cloth for 15 minutes while you prepare the sauce
For the cream sauce
- In a small skillet, melt the butter over low heat and add the garlic, mix well and add flour
- Whisk until you get a thick clump, then start pouring in the cream until you reach your desired consistency
- Season and let cool for a few minutes before spreading on the pizza base
Bake
- Spread the sauce and toppings on top of the dough
- Bake for 20-25 minutes
