As the weather heats up, lettuce wraps are becoming a staple meal in my house. These are a bahn mi take on traditional lettuce wraps. The flavor combination matches perfectly and it is one of those recipes that everyone in the family loves. This is a fairly quick dinner that is very filling.

Ground Turkey
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 4 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
Pickled Vegetables
  • 3 carrots (shredded)
  • 2 cucumbers (shredded)
  • 1 red cabbage (sliced/shredded)
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Siracha mayo
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 3 tsp siracha

  • 15 heads of lettuce
Bahn Mi Lettuce Wraps
In a medium-high heat skillet, cook ground turkey with 1 tbsp olive oil
Add salt, pepper (for tasting), ginger, garlic, sesame oil, coconut aminos, and fish sauce.
While the ground turkey is cooking, pickle the vegetables.
In a mason jar, place all shredded vegetables inside with white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let sit for 20 minutes.
Mix mayo and siracha (edit quantity for flavor preference)
Wash romaine lettuce heads and serve with a scoop of ground turkey, pickled vegetables, and siracha mayo.
