These are for my sister, who's a HUGE Nutella fan. Am I allowed to say Nutella? Am I going to get sued or something? Let's hope not. Bear with me...FoodTalk makes me write a 100+ word intro to all of the recipes, so I have to say something, right?
These are hands-down some of the best brownies I have ever had. They're fudge, gooey, chewy, nutty, and fabulous.
Cookiesandcups.com by Shelly Jaronsky is one of my favorite tasty dessert blog resources...I've made several of her recipes, all with fabulous results. If you aren't familiar with it, definitely go give it a look. I guarantee you'll find something that you want to give a try.
Nutella Swirl Brownies
Recipe details
Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup salted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (I use dark, but to each their own)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups Nutella, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 - 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350. Line an 8 x 8 baking dish with parchment paper...or foil sprayed with baking spray. I'm a parchment paper gal myself.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, (or with a hand mixer like I did :p), mix the butter and brown sugar on medium speed for 2 minutes. With the mixer still on medium, add the eggs and vanilla and continue mixing until smooth, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
- Turn the speed to medium-low and add 1 cup of the Nutella and the salt, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
- Turn the speed to low and add the flour, mixing until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Drop the remaining 1/4 cup Nutella by the teaspoon evenly over the batter, then swirl the Nutella by the teaspoon evenly over the batter, then swirl the Nutella into the batter using a butter knife.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the center is just set.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares when ready to serve.
Tips
- I didn't measure the chocolate chips...just added them until it looked like enough...go ahead, be adventurous!
