Custard Chocolate Chip Pie
This is one of the pies I always make for the holidays. Our kids and grandchildren favorite pie. You take it out of the oven when it's still a little loose in the middle and then it has the perfect custard feel. First you whip the eggs until they are frothy about three minutes. Then you add in all the other ingredients. Mix until combined and then stir in the chocolate chips. I use a mix of milk chocolate and semi sweet. You can use any combination you like. I have tried white chocolate chips before and they were delicious too.
You can see the custard layer on the bottom and the chocolate chips on the top layer.
It gets that crunchy layer on the top and then down to the custard layer along with a flaky crust.
