Sweet and spicy tofu tacos - what more could you ask for!


This is one of my all time favourite recipes, one that I make almost every week. If you are someone who has never tried tofu, this is a great recipe to start with as it is super simple!



These are completely customizable tofu tacos - this recipe just includes the tofu recipe, what toppings you choose to make your tacos are up to you!

For my toppings I decided to use:

  • shredded carrot
  • shredded red cabbage
  • radish
  • green onion
  • cilantro
  • sriracha mayo

This tofu recipe can also be used in rice bowls or lettuce cups! This is a good staple recipe to have on hand whenever you are wanting to have some tofu for dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of extra firm tofu
  • 1 tsp cayenne, paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of sweet Thai chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp of hoisin
  • 1 tsp of sriracha
  • 1 tbsp of olive or sesame oil
  • TOPPINGS OF YOUR CHOICE
Instructions
For the Tofu
— press tofu for ~ 15 minutes, then chop into cubes
— coat the tofu with corn starch, cayenne, paprika, red pepper flakes, chili powder, salt & pepper 
— in a pan on medium-high heat use a tbsp of oil and cook the tofu until golden brown on all sides (10-15 minutes)
— once fully cooked, coat with sweet thai chili sauce, hoisin sauce and sriracha.
— Serve in warmed corn tortillas with toppings of your choice!
