HOW TO MAKE EGGNOG WITHOUT EGGS | Homemade Eggnog Recipe

There’s no doubt the Christmas season is full of traditions and family gatherings. Perhaps your family has a favorite dish you look forward to having just once a year.

No matter what your family traditions are, or what dishes you look forward to having, it’s safe to say we all know Eggnog as a seasonal drink.

This seasonal favorite will start to line the shelves in the dairy section from Fall till the end of the year. But have you ever wondered, does eggnog have raw eggs? Why is eggnog so fattening? Why is eggnog bad for you?

Traditionally homemade eggnog recipes contain raw eggs. Alcohol can be added to many homemade eggnog recipes as a bactericide. Although very few eggs are infected with salmonella, eggnog freshly made with raw eggs that are infected and not heat treated can cause food poisoning.

In addition, Eggnog gets a bad rap for being fattening and bad for you. Clearly it’s loaded with calories due to the large amount of cream, milk and added sugar.

So, what if you really love the taste of eggnog but don’t want to consume the extra calories and added sugars?

This sugar free eggnog recipe without eggs is a must try! It’s rich, creamy and does not lack in taste!

With only 4 ingredients, this easy eggnog recipe is ready in just 5 minutes! To get started you’ll need:

-large mixing bowl

-whisk

-skim milk

-sugar free vanilla pudding

-nutmeg

-imitation rum extract

Add milk to the bowl and while whisking add remaining ingredients. Mix until combined.

NOTE: Whisking while adding the pudding will prevent the mixture from getting lumpy.

Chill in the fridge for 5 minutes. Before serving gently stir eggnog.

Ladle into small serving cups and garnish with a dash of grated nutmeg and enjoy!

NOTE: The eggnog will thicken the longer it sits.
