Healthier Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

Everybody knows Starbuck's famous pumpkin cream cold brew they come out with each fall. There's always lines out the door and people spending $6 on 1 cup of coffee. Fun fact- I refused to drink a pumpkin spice latte my entire life up until last year because I thought it was way overhyped. I prefer apples and sweet potatoes as my fall foods but I do now understand the hype.

There are 31 grams of added sugar in the Starbucks version but only less than 5 grams of sugar in mine. How? Recipe is below.

Healthier Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew Foam
  • 1/4 cup nonfat milk (or milk substitute)
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/8 tsp vanilla
  • (optional) 1 tsp heavy cream
Healthier Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
Prepare 1 cup of cold brew as you would using your coffee machine
For the foam, in a glass measuring cup, mix all ingredients together
Froth until you reach a foam consistency
Pour over cold brew and enjoy!
  • The less fat in the milk, the easier to froth. Heavy cream is optional and adds a creamier taste but only add a little bit or your mixture will not froth
  • There is only 1/2 tsp of each ingredient because you don't want it to get chunky. This amount adds flavor while not ruining the consistency
  • Trader Joe's maple almond beverage also works great in place of skim milk and maple syrup
