Ever find yourself craving a cheeseburger but want to keep your meals lighter and healthier? Well, if you haven't tried a "Big Mac" salad why not give this one a try, it will satisfy all of your fast food cravings but in a bunless "healthier" version.

This salad combines all of your favorite burger toppings over a bed of crunchy and refreshing romaine lettuce. The tangy homemade dressing resembles that famous "secret sauce" that traditionally garnishes the Big Mac burger.

This salad is a perfect lunch option, but is also hearty enough to serve up as a dinner.

If you are sceptical about trying this 'Big Mac" salad, I bet that once you do it will become a staple in your meal rotation. This is one of my go-to quick and easy meals when I'm in a rush or simply don't feel like cooking a whole meal.

To make this salad begin with a bed of finely chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce. I find that by cutting the lettuce in smaller pieces helps to incorporate the toppings better and yields to a more balanced bite.

Next you want to add cooked and seasoned ground beef to the lettuce. This salad tastes best if the beef is slightly warm in temperature. Not too hot as it will melt the cheese and wilt the lettuce.

The next layer is the cheese! You can add any type of cheese that you like, however I recommend Cheddar, Marble or Gouda.

After the cheese top the salad with chopped tomatoes, pickles and onions. I prefer red onion in this salad, however on this day I was all out and the yellow onions worked just as well.

Once all of the toppings have been added to the salad whisk up the ingredients for the dressing and drizzle over the salad.

Give the salad a good toss, until everything has been evenly incorporated.

Dig in and Enjoy!
