How To Make Any Tea Decaffeinated
There is caffeine in some teas, and others have no caffeine at all. I'll be sharing how to make any caffeinated tea decaffeinated easily with just a few simple steps. You can see more of my crazy creations here
For this tutorial, I'll be using green tea, and this same process works for any tea that has caffeine in it, such as black tea, rooibos tea, etc.
You'll start by boiling your water. I use an electric kettle, but you can even put your mug of water in the microwave for this step.
Pour your water into your cup and add your tea bag.
Let the tea steep for approximately 30 seconds. Caffeine is one of the first things to release in a cup of tea.
When the 30 seconds is up, dump out all of the water in your cup. This is throwing out the caffeine but not letting all of the flavor in your tea bag go.
Immediately fill the cup with more boiling water, and steep your tea according to your tea's instructions. This green tea is between 3-5 minutes. Make sure to follow these instructions or your tea will come out bitter.
