There are so many reasons I love the fall season! All of the pretty colors, the cooler weather, the pumpkin patches, and the cozy sweaters and cute boots. But most of all, I love all of the yummy apple, pumpkin spice, and cinnamon recipes! We all know apple crisp is one of the best traditional fall desserts. Well this caramel apple crisp is like regular apple crisp on crack! It is so good, especially when it is still warm and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. You definitely need to make it this fall. More than once!

Ingredients
For the apples:
  • 6 peeled and diced apples
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
For the crisp:
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 stick of butter cut into squares
Instructions
For the apples:
Preheat oven to 350°
Mix together the chopped apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and sugar.
Pour evenly into a greased 8x8 baking dish.
Top with caramel sauce.
For the crisp:
Combine the brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter until the texture turns into pea sized crumbles. I’ve found that it works best to mix with your (clean) hands!
Spread the topping evenly over the apples and the caramel.
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Top with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel!
