Hey Friends!

Welcome! I’m so glad that you are here. I always enjoy our time together. I continue to be amazed at how fast the time is flying and that we only have two and a half weeks until Thanksgiving-gasp! I am sharing a great potato recipe with you that is so easy and delicious. Here’s How to Make Baked Sweet Potatoes with Maple Glaze. They are Perfect for Your Holiday Feast. Come on, I’ll show you.

These delicious Baked Sweet Potatoes the the fancy cousin to regular Baked Potatoes.

Potatoes are such a traditional part of the holiday feasts-but what if you want to try something a little bit different? You might have asked “what do I do with potatoes?’ Here is a quick and easy potato recipe perfect for your holiday meals. Have you ever had Hasselback Potatoes? They are absolutely delicious-they are like the fancy cousin to the regular baked potato. I love sweet potatoes, so I decided to create a recipe using golden sweet potatoes and making a maple glaze.

Just a few simple ingredients , makes for a delicious holiday feast side dish.

You will need sweet potatoes-I use the golden sweet potatoes instead of the orange sweet potatoes, bacon, butter, olive oil, maple syrup salt and pepper.

Step 1: Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Place potatoes on a cutting board (here is another option for a cutting board.) Using a sharp knife, I cut off the the ends, just because I don’t like the way that they look. Then slice the potatoes, without cutting all the way through.

TIP: To easily slice the potatoes, put a wooden spoon on either side of the potato. When you slice the potato, the handles of the wooden spoons will keep you from cutting all the way through.

Step 2: Butter the bottom and sides of a baking dish and add sliced sweet potatoes to the baking dish. Get glass baking dish here. Get ceramic bakeware set here.

Step 3: Drizzle sweet potatoes will olive oil and season with salt and pepper. My grandma collected salt and pepper shakers and I love them, too. Here is a pretty set of shakers that makes seasoning food a bit more fun.

Step 4: Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.

Step 5: While the potatoes are baking, fry the bacon and crumble it. I cooked my bacon in an electric frying pan. This is a lovely frying pan.

Step 6: In a medium pan, add olive oil and maple syrup. Season with salt and pepper. After the sauce thickens, remove from heat and stir in butter.

This maple glaze is absolutely delicious.

Step 7: Pour half of the maple glaze onto the potatoes and bake another 30 minutes. Check the potatoes to make sure that you don’t over cook them.

Step 8: When potatoes are just about done, pour on the remaining maple glaze. This makes the potatoes caramelize on the bottom. The best part of the potato, yum!

Step 9: Sprinkle on crumbled bacon and fresh chives.

Step 10; Enjoy!
