Ohhhh my goodness these are heavenly! Honestly all potatoes are, but these in particular are “smashingly” good! They’re seasoned with Montreal Steak seasoning and crisped up in the air fryer in just minutes! Perfect for a snack, with lunch / dinner, or even breakfast. I had these with scrambled eggs and the combo was freaking bomb. I scooped little bits of the egg onto the potatoes, and the bite hit all the right flavor and textural notes. Bottom line, ya gotta try them!!
The Montreal Steak seasoning is really what takes these to a whole other level. It adds so much flavor - and makes your house smell like steak when its cooking on the potatoes!! It's pretty amazing.
For this recipe, I used small Yukon Golden potatoes. Feel free to use your favorite kind of potato, but I do recommend using small potatoes. I tried making this with large russet potatoes, and the smashing did not go well.
This recipe is also great because it's scalable. You can use one potato or five - it's up to you! Therefore, the "yield" for this recipe will depend on how many potatoes you use, and how many slices you end up making.
