is delicious and easy to make! Roasting corn in the oven is a great option for when there is bad weather, too much on the grill/stove or if you want to make a really big batch! This recipe is sure to be a hit and one everyone will love.

How to make Oven Roasted Corn on the Cob


For this super simple recipe all you will need is corn on the cob, butter, garlic salt and pepper! Before you cook your corn you will want to make sure you get the best corn you can find. Read How to Choose an Ear of Corn (Without Peeking!) for tips on selecting your corn at the grocery store or farmers market!

Shuck your corn husk and be sure to remove all of the silk. Then, spread softened butter on the corn. It does not need to be melted butter. Sprinkle the corn cobs with garlic salt and pepper. Next, roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Turn corn halfway through.

For more char, you can broil to get it your desired color! Move the pan up to a higher oven rack and broil for just a few minutes, turning if desired to get an even color. Then, serve and enjoy. See video below for visual directions.

How should leftover oven roasted corn be stored?

Store the leftover corn in an air tight container or a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The leftover corn can be reheated in the microwave or slice it off of the cob and use it on tacos or in a salsa like our Avocado Black Bean and Corn Salsa.

Do I need to wrap the corn in aluminum foil to roast it in the oven?

You could however for this recipe you can skip that step.

Ingredients

  • corn on the cob
  • butter
  • garlic salt
  • ground pepper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Shuck your corn and be sure to remove all of the silk.
Spread softened butter on the corn on all sides
Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Place on baking sheet, be sure to leave a little space between ears of corn.
On a baking sheet, roast in the oven at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Rotate halfway through. For more char, you can broil to get it your desired color!
Serve and enjoy!

  • This recipe can be used for as many ears of corn as desired. Be sure to give a little space in between each one on the baking sheet.

    I've been making corn on the cob in the oven for several years now, and we love it. I've used foil wrapped around each ear and also just I've put foil as a cover for the pan. I use salt, pepper, butter, and parmesan cheese most of the time. By fixing in the oven, the corn seems to hold heat longer too. Thanks for your recipe. I look forward to your suggestions.
