How to make the Best Baked Beans

Just thinking about this recipe makes my mouth water. There are so many things that I love about these baked beans. The recipe is so easy to make, and it’s quick. It is chock full of flavor. It can be a one pot meal. It’s the perfect side dish for any meal, especially a barbeque. It’s the perfect potluck dish, that everyone will love.

How to Make the Best Baked Beans

A few simple ingredients

I love the simplicity of the ingredients-hamburger, bacon, garlic, onions, pork and beans, cannellini beans, kidney beans, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar. and salt and pepper. It’s just that easy and most likely you will have most of these items in your pantry.

What canned beans are the best for Baked Beans?

I always start with pork and beans as my base. From there, you can use any beans that you like. Today, I’m using cannellini beans and kidney beans, but I have also used white beans, lima beans and butter beans. I have never used black beans in this recipe.

Let’s get to the good part. How to Make the Best Baked Beans. I start by cutting my bacon into small pieces on my cutting board. Cutting raw bacon can be tough, so use a good sharp knife. In a stock pot on medium high, I add a bit of salt, the hamburger, bacon, garlic, onion, salt and pepper.

After the meat is cooked through, I drain off any excess fat and put it back into the same pot. I add the cannellini beans and the kidney beans to a colander. I rinse them and drain them before I add them to the pot.

I then add the entire can of pork and beans, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. I let it simmer to let the flavors mingle or about 20 minutes.

Don’t these baked beans look delicious? I sure hope that you will try them, you are your family are sure to love them.

Beautiful interiors don’t have to come with an outrageous price tag. My style is what I like to call Vintage French Farmhouse, I love mixing decorating styles, especially opposites like the glitz of a chandelier dripping in crystals with a chair upholstered in worn aged leather. Refined, yet not too formal-but, livable, elegant traditional design, adding warmth and vintage elements.
