Bahn Mi Slaw
If you want a change from the normal cabbage/carrot/mayo slaw scene, you've come to the right place!
Bahn Mi is the Vietnamese way to go- she's fresh, colorful, packed with veggies, and has just the right amount of heat with jalapeño.
For the dressing we use both black and white sesame seeds- I love the subtle crunch these give, and we round out the finish with honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
I originally created this recipe as a topping for Bao- which I love to fill with some pulled Hawaiian chicken. This slaw is the perfect compliment. The fluffy bao, sweet chicken, and tangy slaw really make those mini sandwiches a fan favorite! Not to mention they are just adorable and serious eye candy.
Try this Banh Mi slaw with burgers, pulled brisket, or simply as a fun side for your next BBQ!
