This ground beef and broccoli is a flavorful, healthy, and easy-to-make meal that you can quickly throw together on busy weeknights!

Beef and broccoli has always been a favorite of mine, but something I don’t make often since I rarely have flank steak on hand, BUT for the most part I always do have ground beef in my freezer/fridge!

This recipe has all the same flavors that your traditional beef and broccoli dish has, but rather than made with stir-fry steak it’s made with ground beef… which in my opinion is easier to cook since you don’t have to worry about slicing the meat. You know I’m all about a quick and easy meal!

I have modified my recipe to be paleo, but you can easily substitute the coconut aminos for gluten free soy sauce (or regular soy sauce if you don’t eat gluten free) and serve with rice or noodles instead of cauliflower rice. Either way, it will be delicious!

*This is the brand of coconut aminos I use and love!

  • Olive oil
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • ½ yellow onion diced
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into bite-size florets
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • ¾ cup coconut aminos *gluten free soy sauce will work too
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • ¼ tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked cauliflower rice rice or noodles, to serve with
  • Green onions to garnish

In a large skillet over medium heat drizzle olive and let it get hot for a minute or two.
Add the ground beef and onions and cook until the meat is no longer pink, breaking apart as cooking.
While the beef is cooking, place 1-2″ of water in the bottom of a pot with a lid and heat over high heat until boiling. Add broccoli and place lid on top. Steam until fork tender (don’t overcook). Strain the broccoli of excess water and set aside.
In a small bowl, add garlic, coconut aminos, honey, Sriracha, chili flakes, and ginger and stir until evenly combined.
Add cooked broccoli and sauce to the pan with the beef. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for 10-15 mins.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve over cauliflower rice, rice or noodles.
Top with green onions.
