So I often get my ideas for a recipe while looking at ingredients, or thinking of a nostalgic flavor or a favorite meal… this one came to me while I waited at the Dentist’ office for my husband, AKA, my dentist. I was thinking how delicious Goat Cheese was and the different ways you could use it, and this idea seemed to just hit me, and I couldn’t stop thinking and planning it out ever since!

First off, did you see my recipe for these Pretzel Buns? If not, be sure to check them out! Because they are the best addition to these delicious Goat Cheese Turkey Burgers. The patties are flavorful, and the perfect addition to the Goat Cheese Spread- which has a little bit of sweetness, heat, and of course tanginess from the Goat Cheese itself and the A1 sauce I also mixed in there. It takes the flavor to a whole new level!

As you can see by the recipe, I added a list of optional toppings for this sandwich. I was perfectly happy with my Sauteed Onions and Goat Cheese spread, but if you’re a big ‘topping guy’ then feel free to pull ideas from that list. They’d all be great additions.

Ingredients
Turkey Burgers
  • 1 Batch of Pretzel Buns
  • 2 lbs Ground Turkey
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
Goat Cheese Spread
  • 8oz Goat Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp chile powder
  • 2 tsp A1 sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
Optional Toppings
  • Sautéed onions
  • Sautéed Mushrooms
  • Bacon
  • A1 Sauce
  • Mayo
Instructions

In a large bowl, Combine the 2 lbs Ground Turkey, 2 Eggs, 1 tsp Salt, 2 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning, and 2 tsp Garlic Powder until thoroughly mixed.
Heat up a griddle or large cooking pan to medium heat, coated with cooking spray. Form the burgers into 6 patties, and cook for about 10 minutes each side, until the internal temp reaches 165°.
Prepare your goat Cheese spread by combining all of the ingredients: 8oz goat cheese, 1 Tbsp Honey, 1 tsp chile powder, 2 tsp A1 sauce, and 1/2 tsp Salt. If the Goat Cheese is hard to mix because it’s cold, stick it in the microwave for 8-10 seconds to soften it up.
Prepare/gather whatever additional toppings you’d like: Sautéed onions, Sautéed Mushrooms, Bacon, A1 Sauce, and/or Mayo.
To assemble, cut the Pretzel Buns in half and spread the Goat Cheese Spread liberally on the bun, then each burger pattie and whatever toppings you’d like. Enjoy!
