Lemon ginger detox what? Let me just tell ya, it’s the bomb

Who’s on a January cleanse/diet of some sort? Girl, I am with you! I had way to much fun in December (and regret nothing) but it’s time to reign it in and get serious about feeling good and shedding the few winter pounds that crept on. Let me introduce you to my little friend: the lemon ginger detox drink, in concentrate form. It’s a keeper ladies. Easy to make and effective!

Why is it called a detox drink?

Because lemon and ginger have amazing health benefiting properties. Just a few of them being: boosted immunity, alkalizes the body, flushes the lymph fluid, helps strengthen the immune system, and reduces bloat. What what?!?! Sign. Me. Up! Below is the super simple recipe you can make right now!

Once the concentrate is made, you can easily add it to a quart of cold water like suggested. A few other methods to enjoy the concentrate are to heat up a half cup of concentrate with one and a half cups of hot water and enjoy like a tea. One friend added turmeric and a bit of honey to it and gave a rave review.

I make my husband something similar when he’s down with anything respiratory related, except I add cinnamon to it as well for the anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant properties it possesses. Plus cinnamon tastes great in tea!

Along with drinking this detox concentrate daily, I’ve been adding a solid probiotic to my diet as it helps with maintaining and improving gut flora.

Taken from the NOW website:

Our bodies are home to beneficial bacteria, referred to as probiotics, which live both inside and outside of our bodies. Outside, the majority of bacteria are found on our skin. Inside, the bulk of beneficial bacteria reside in our intestinal tract, also referred to as the human gut.

Probiotics serve a number of important roles in your body, particularly for digestion and digestive health, but they’re not found in a wide variety of foods, so supplementation is a great way to ensure you’re supplying your body with a healthy helping of probiotics for health.*

I have been a long time believer and user of probiotics. It’s an important part of my Childrens supplement plan as well. They take BerryDophilus daily. The chewable have animal prints on them and the kids love the lion and cat ones the most. In their words, those ones just “taste better”. They’re all the same folks, but don’t tell them that. 😉

Travis and I take the Probiotic-10. Both are such a high standard of quality I feel at peace giving them to my family.

These in conjunction with a healthy diet and activity are what I’m using to get healthy after the holidays and keep my family well during the “sickness months” as I call them, of January – March.

Happy healthy my friends. Let me know what you think of this concentrate!
