When do you blend them from chunks into sauce?

    • See 1 previous
    • I don't. It's closer to a compote than a smooth applesauce. If you don't want as many chunks, you can blend half of them before adding the cranberries.

I use my crock pot and slow cook my apples on high 4 hrs.( add a little Apple cider for a thinner sauce), I do not peel my apples. You loose nutrients if you do. After they are soft, I use an immersion blender stick and gets very smooth. Also I’ve used a potato masher for a chunky texture. I can’t wait to try the cranberries.
