Valentine chocolate covered popcorn decorated with colorful candy, sprinkles, sugar and more; an easy and delicious treat for your Valentine.

Good morning friends, I hope that those of you who have been in the path of the “snow storm of the season” enjoyed a “snow day” or two and had a lot of help shoveling all if the snow. I heard on the news that there were a few towns that received 24 inches of snow! Can you even imagine? The weather here has been very windy, cold and rainy, we did have some flurries yesterday but sadly nothing stuck to the ground. I think we may have seen the only snow this year when we got 21/2 inches, don’t get me wrong I loved that but I did want a little more, or at least for it to stick around longer than a day. I read the Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter so I get we better get used to it.

Valentine’s day is fast approaching and today I wanted to share another “no-bake treat” that you can make for yourself, or to share. In my family popcorn is one of their favorite treats, at the movies, on Friday night watching Netflix, strolling around Target(pre-pandemic) looking at clothes. So this year I decided to make a batch of chocolate covered popcorn for them, but not just any popcorn, this popcorn is covered in white chocolate, drizzled with dark chocolate and then sprinkled with white chocolate pretzels, Valentine M & M’s, colored sugar, jimmies and more. I think they are going to love it.

Chocolate Covered Valentine’s Day Popcorn with Candy

Ingredients

8-10 cups poppd popcorn

10 oz. white chocolate  melting wafers

2 oz. dark chocolate wafers melted

sprinkles, jimmies

colored sugar

Valentine M&M

Fliptz white chocolate pretzels

Directions

On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking liner spread out your popcorn in a single layer.

Melt the white chocolate in a small bowl according to the directions on the package do the same with the dark chocolate in another bowl. Once the white chocolate is melted drizzle it all over the popcorn. I simply take a large soup spoon and drizzle it back and forth over the chocolate (you could also place the popcorn in a large bowl and then dump the chocolate in and stir to coat)

Then drizzle with the melted dark chocolate. Finally add the pretzels, the candy and the jimmies, sprinkle and sugar. If you have chocolate left then add that to the top.

Let the chocolate harden on the popcorn, then break into large pieces and place in decorative tins, bags or boxes or place in a large bowl and enjoy.

I like to bag up the popcorn in cellophane bags tied with Valentine’s ribbon or place it in little tin buckets from The Dollar Tree or Target.

You could deliver little bags or buckets of chocolate covered popcorn too your neighbors along with a Valentine card and I am sure they would love it, especially if you have any elderly neighbors who have been sheltering in place. Just place it on the doorstep or in the mailbox, send them a text to let them know the chocolate covered treats are there and then you do not even have to come in contact with them, the perfect way to deliver with social distancing.

Do you have any “no-bake” treats that you like to give or to make for Valentine’s Day? I know that many people like to make chocolate covered strawberries and you could use the melting wafers from this recipe to make them too, I am sure they would be delicious.

Have a happy and safe day friends.
