Rosemary and Tarragon Spicy Mixed nuts are the perfect healthy snack, they make an excellent accompaniment to a charcuterie board, to serve with cocktails and to give as gifts. This healthy snack could not be easier to make, you simply melt the butter, add the spices, pour the mixture over the nuts and bake! Voila, a tasty snack for the holidays, game day lunches and more.

If you want to give the nuts as gifts you could add them to a gift basket with cheese, wine and other snacks. Or if you are giving a bottle of wine place them in a bag died with ribbon and attach it to the wine bottle.

Make a big batch of these spicy nut to have in the pantry as an alternative to chips or sweet treats.

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon crumbled dried rosemary
  • 1/2 Tablespoon dried Tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups of mixed nuts, unsalted

Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pour the nuts in a large bowl. In a small bowl melt butter( in the microwave or on the stove) then stir in the brown sugar and the spices, mix well. Pour the butter mixture over the nuts, mix well so that all of the nuts are well coated.
Spread the nuts out on a baking sheet and bake until they become glazed, about 18-20 minutes. Stir one during the baking process. Remove from oven and let cool.
Tips
  • You can use whatever mix of nuts that you like, I used pecans, walnuts, pistachios, almonds and cashew.
  • The nuts make an excellent addition to a gift basket, just be sure they are completely cooled packaging.
