How to make Instant Pot apple cinnamon oatmeal. This is an easy and delicious recipe with old fashioned oats and real apples. It takes about 10 minutes to make, so it's easy to make in the morning.

This makes 4 servings. You can save the rest in the fridge and reheat it through the week.

This recipe uses old fashioned oats. You can also use steel cut oats, but you'll have to adjust the cook time to 4 minutes and let it naturally release.

I use a 6 quart Instant Pot Duo. I recommend the nonstick liner for things like oatmeal. Don't have an Instant Pot? No problem, make this on the stove. Saute your apples and butter and set aside. Then boil the water and add oats. Cook for 5 minutes then add the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon and stir well.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples peeled and chopped into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 3 1/2 cups water
Instructions

Turn your Instant Pot on to the sauté function. When it's hot, add the butter and apples. Sautee for 3 minutes or until the apples are soft. Press cancel.
Add the rest of the ingredients. Close the lid on the Instant Pot and close the sealing valve. Set to high pressure for 1 minutes or use the Porridge button.
When it's done, do a quick release. Stir and enjoy. Add more water, milk, or cinnamon to taste.
Tips
  • Use water to make your Instant Pot oatmeal apple cinnamon. Milk or almond milk will cause a burn notice
  • If it's too thick, use the saute function to heat to remove excess water. Add water or milk if it's too thin.

Made this this morning, with the exception of only using 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and only one teaspoon of cinnamon and for the other teaspoon used apple spice, it was delicious with the consistency I love. I used the Porridge setting. Thank you. GB
