Salt & Pepper Air Fryer Calamari

Ingredients
- 500g squid rings (fresh or defrosted)
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Combine egg and buttermilk in a medium bowl.
- Combine breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and flour in a second bowl.
- Roll squid rings into buttermilk mixture then in breadcrumb mixture.
- Layer calamari along the bottom of the air fryer basket, in a single layer.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes on 200 degrees Celcius (400F) or until golden brown.
- Repeat with remaining calamari rings until they are all cooked.
Tips
- Avoid over-filling your air fryer basket as it will prevent your calamari from getting crispy.
- Serve with your favourite dipping sauce or side salad.
