Have you seen the amount of additives in salad dressing? Not to mention the amount of added sugar? Once I started making my own dressing, I was shocked at how easy it was and this is my main go to.

You will need 1/3 cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon red wine vinaigrette, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 squeezed lemon, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard and a pinch of salt.

You can always double the portions for a larger salad or to store in the fridge for a few days to use when needed.

Mix it all together!

It goes particularly well on this salad I have been making lately that taste like an Italian sub without the guilt!

Chop up 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce, 1 French cucumber, 1/2 can of chickpeas (drained and rinsed), chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup of pickled banana peppers, sliced red onion.

Add some thinly sliced provolone and salami and add your homemade dressing!
