High Protein Buffalo Chicken Dip

Welcome to my current food obsession - the buffalo chicken dip! I have made this for dinners, parties, lunches, etc. I even gifted a batch to a friend for their birthday. This might be one of my top requested recipes so I always have a batch in my freezer. One of my passions in life as a registered dietitian, is finding healthy alternatives to popular food items without sacrificing the taste. Through trial and error, I feel like I have accomplished that with this dip. The Greek Yogurt is a good source of protein, healthy fats, and probiotics. The cottage cheese is low fat and in 1 cup of cottage cheese is 25 grams of protein! My only concern for this recipe is the sodium as buffalo sauce is very high in sodium. I would recommend to not eat this daily or if you do, make sure the rest of your meals are little to no sodium. The average adult without high blood pressure should have less than 2,300 mg sodium per day according to the AHA.

Ingredients
High Protein Buffalo Chicken Dip
  • 1 lb shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Franks's Hot Sauce
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp ranch seasoning
Instructions
High Protein Buffalo Chicken Dip
In a crockpot, on low to medium heat, throw all ingredients inside
Leave in for 10 minutes while all ingredient melt, then mix well together
Tips
  • You can substitute Ranch dressing for ranch seasoning, but ranch seasoning is lower fat
  • I usually will put my chicken in a crockpot first to cook it, then shred it, then add all ingredients. This usually takes 3-4 hours to fully cook
