These adorable gnome cookie cups are sure to be a hit to your Christmas parties. They are semi homemade using premade sugar cookie dough, so they are a snap to bake and decorate. Get the easy Christmas sugar cookie decorating ideas that is sure to impress your guests without you having to spend hours in the kitchen.

These Christmas gnome sugar cookies are just adorable! They are fun to make and fun to eat. They look cute sitting on a table.

You can either use premade cookie dough in the tubes or make your own dough. I have a sugar cookie recipe that I love, but I did grab premade dough to make this gnome cookie cups recipe.

These aren't just Christmas cookie cups; they'd also be cute for Valentine's Day or just because.

You'll need a mini muffin tin to make these gnome cookies. A regular muffin tin is too large.

I used a premade cookie dough in the tubes because it's the fourth quarter and I'm a hot mess until January.

You can also use a sugar cookie pouch and make them semi homemade or use your favorite sugar cookie recipe.

If you use premade dough because you're busy, don't worry. It's our little secret. I won't tell anyone if you don't.

I like to use either Pillsbury premade dough or the Aldi brand if I can find it. There are other brands of cookie dough mixes that are really good too.

This gnome cookie cups recipe is pretty basic, but here are some variations that you can try to make them your own recipe.

  • Use chocolate chip cookie dough instead of sugar cookie dough.
  • Use peanut butter cookie dough for Christmas cookie cups.
  • Use different candies for the nose. Try cinnamon imperials or edible pearls.
  • I used strawberries for the hats. You can also make them out of icing, but the gnome cookies decorated may not travel well with the fragile icing hats.
  • Try using different colored noses for different holidays.
  • Use Hershey's Kisses or Hugs for the hats.

Ingredients

  • 1 roll refrigerator sugar cookie dough or your favorite sugar cookie dough
  • 24 strawberries with the tops cut off
  • 24 red candy coated chocolate candies (I used M and Ms)
  • White cookie icing
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a mini muffin pan and set aside.
Roll the premade sugar cookie dough into 1 inch balls. Place one one ball into each mini muffin cup. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
Let the cookie cups cool for 2 to 3 minutes and remove from the pan to cool on a cooling rack.
Once cool, use the cookie icing to make the gnome bears. Do this by squeezing the icing on one side of the Christmas gnome sugar cookies and draping it down to create a beard.
Place a strawberry on top of the cookie cup.
Place one red M and M candy on top of the beard to create the nose.
Add some icing to the top of the strawberry to create the white trim for the hat.

These are not FODMAP friendly if they use prepared sugar cookie dough!
