My First Key Lime Pie

I have never made a key lime pie before but after scoring fresh Key limes for a great price, I jumped in with both feet. This is hands down the easiest key lime pie recipe and oh so delicious.

Sour cream, graham crackers, sweetened condensed milk make up most of the ingredients.

Fresh Key limes are a crucial ingredient~do not substitute regular limes.

Make a graham cracker crust or use a store-bought one.

Add the filling and bake for a short period of time (DO NOT BROWN) and then chill thoroughly.

Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream, if desired.

  • 1- 9 inch prepared graham cracker crust (store bought or homemade)
  • 3 cups sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cups key lime juice
  • 1 T grated lime zest

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups finely ground graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 6 T butter, melted
  • 1/2 t. ground cinnamon


Directions for Crust

Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter and cinnamon until well blended.
Press mixture into a 9 inch pie plate.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 minutes. Cool

Instructions for Pie

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice and lime zest.
Mix well and pour into graham cracker crust.
Bake in a preheated oven for 5 t0 8 minutes, until tiny pinhole bubbles burst on the surface of the pie.
Chill pie thoroughly before serving.
Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream, if desired.
