2 Gram Sugar "Frosting"

I use this recipe for every birthday gathering - it is a tradition now! It is my own recipe. As a registered dietitian, I love to find healthier alternatives to popular recipes without sacrificing the flavor. I have had people tell me they like my recipe over traditional frosting! I personally am not a fan of frosting, and I ask "if my version is healthier and tastes better, then why eat frosting at all?" Traditional frosting is basically butter and sugar, mine has 2 grams sugar and no butter. I have also used this "frosting" to make ice cream sandwiches with 2 graham crackers. It was a huge hit in my family!

  • 1 cup cool whip
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Food coloring (if needed)
2 gram sugar "Frosting"
In a small mixing bowl, mix 3 ingredients together until well incorporated
Add food coloring if needed
Important: if using recipe for cake frosting, refrigerate for at least 2 hours to give it time to firm. Do not leave out in heat or it will melt. I had it sitting on cake for 3 hours in the AC and it did not melt.

  • I used this recipe for 1 birthday cake and 24 cupcakes and still have a lot leftover
