Easy chicken recipes are the goal right now. Taco nights are also increasing over here since they are simple, versatile, and tasty.

Chicken ranch tacos will now be in our meal rotation permanently. Adding ranch seasoning to shredded chicken adds so much flavor.

Shredded chicken tacos are always good, but the tangy flavor of ranch brings them to another level.

I think I will make a double-decker taco pizza using this shredded chicken with ranch filling next time!

Easy Chicken Tacos Recipe with Ranch

This chicken tacos recipe is incredibly easy. All you are really doing is adding a packet of ranch seasoning.

Have you ever seen one of those memes about midwesterners and ranch dressing? I’ve seen ones that say something about people in the midwest sitting on their front porches sipping on ranch dressing. Pretty sure that will be exactly me soon!

I’ve always loved ranch dressing, but lately, I put it on everything. Fitting the midwestern stereotype perfectly and loving every minute of it, you can always find ranch dressing mix in my cabinet!

From salads to dips to appetizers like veggie pinwheels, ranch makes everything taste better!

Chicken ranch taco ingredients

  • Shredded chicken: I like to use leftover rotisserie chicken sometimes.
  • Taco seasoning: Store-bought or DIY taco seasoning mix recipe.
  • Dry ranch dressing mix
  • Chicken broth
  • Soft or hard taco shells: We also use the low-carb tortillas when we are on the keto diet.
  • Salsa
  • Shredded cheese
  • Chopped avocado
  • Sour cream
  • Any of your favorite taco toppings


How to make chicken ranch tacos

Cook and shred your chicken however you choose. I use a slow cooker most of the time.

Add shredded chicken, taco seasoning, and ranch seasoning to a large skillet.

Add in the broth and mix well.

Heat over medium-low heat until the mixture is hot and most of the liquid is evaporated.

Serve in your choice of taco shell and top with your favorite toppings.

Notes: Swap the shredded chicken for ground chicken, ground turkey, or ground beef.

Use your favorite type of shredded cheese and additional toppings. This taco recipe is very versatile and feel free to tweak it to your liking or to fit what you have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • soft or hard taco shells
  • salsa
  • shredded cheese
  • chopped avocado

Instructions

In a large skillet, add chicken, taco and ranch seasoning. Add broth and mix well. Heat over medium low heat until hot and most of the liquid is evaporated.
Serve in a shell with your favorite toppings.
Tips
  • Serves 4-6 people. A serving of taco meat is technically 2 oz, but I think most of us pile on more than that!
  • Prep time does not include cooking and shredding the chicken.
  • You can substitute the shredded chicken for ground turkey, ground chicken, or even ground beef.
