Sourdough Vanilla Cinnamon French Toast
I have been on a sourdough bread kick lately. It just tastes so good and is easy to make. I quit worrying I wasn't feeding it enough and all of that. It really does forgive you. I make the sourdough sandwich bread which is posted in my recipes. When we didn't get a loaf all eaten before it started to dry out I decided to try making it into french toast. To our surprise it was amazing. It is hard to explain but because it is so dense it really soaks up the milk mixture but doesn't get soggy. It holds together very nicely which the store bought bread doesn't always do. I mix together my eggs and then add in the milk, after mixing that together to form a custard. I add in my vanilla extract and some cinnamon. Cook and brown on both sides. Serve with butter and syrup.
It is very good.
