Blueberry lemonade is an easy-to-make and refreshing beverage to enjoy. Four ingredients are all you need to make this sweet and tangy drink.

Warm weather is here and it’s time to enjoy the outdoors with a refreshing beverage.

This homemade blueberry lemonade recipe is simple to make and so refreshing. Fresh squeezed lemons combined with a simple syrup made with fresh blueberries makes a tasty beverage to enjoy.

The recipe is nonalcoholic but you can easily make this a cocktail by adding Vodka or your alcohol of choice.

How to Make Blueberry Lemonade

To make blueberry lemonade, you’ll need just four ingredients:

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 6 lemons
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 6 cups of water

Step One: Make a Blueberry Simple Syrup

Start the simple syrup-making process by adding 1 cup of sugar to a medium saucepan.

Then add one cup of water and heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Add 1 cup of blueberries and bring to a boil.

Simmer for four minutes and then strain the blueberry juice through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer.

Discard blueberries and let the juice cool.

Step Two: Juice the lemons

Cut lemons in half and juice them. Se the juice aside. My preferred tool for juicing lemons and limes is this handy gadget.

Step Three: Make the Blueberry Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry simple syrup, lemon juice, 1/2 cup of sugar and 5 cups of water. Stir very well.

Hint: If you don’t like a too-sweet lemonade, leave out the 1/2 cup of sugar and taste test. You can always add the sugar if it isn’t sweet enough for your taste.

If desired, add fresh blueberries and lemon slices to the pitcher

Chill the blueberry lemonade and serve over ice. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice.

The pretty color of this lemonade makes me think of upcoming holidays.

Consider serving it for Mother’s Day, graduation parties, Memorial Day weekend, the 4th of July, or any day of the week just because it is so delicious!
