Steamy hot Starbucks chai tea latte with a thick frothy layer topped with a dusting of cinnamon, this is just what you need to kick back after a busy day and read your favorite book. Make it taste how you would get in your neighborhood Starbucks, at the comfort of your home with simple ingredients from your pantry or the local grocery store at a fraction of the cost. So for those of you who are fans of Starbucks’ drinks and are also tea lovers, then this Starbucks copycat recipe is going to be a perfect drink!

Want it healthy? Use low fat milk and a sweetener to get your low calorie, low sugar chai tea latte. Want it vegan? Use almond milk! You can alter this recipe to your liking and still have an awesome drink in the end. Want to try different flavors? Add in syrups of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, Irish cream or peppermint. If you are a chai lover and want to try other Starbucks chai drinks at home, here are a few:

Iced Chai Tea Latte: Very similar to the chai tea latte, the Starbucks iced chai latte is made with chai concentrate or spice infused tea with milk and served over ice. The main difference would be that it is not frothed obviously, its chilled!

Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte: This is very seasonal and comes in during the fall season and stays around through Thanksgiving and Halloween. Pumpkin spice latte uses pumpkin spice mix* and pumpkin puree.

Can chai tea latte be made keto friendly?

To get a keto friendly chai tea latte, replace the sugar or honey with an artificial sweetner. One of my favorite keto friendly sweetner is Monk fruit sugar*, it has zero calories and it tastes so similar to sugar.

How to make vegan chai tea latte?

Simply replace regular milk with any non-dairy milk to make your chai tea lattes vegan. However, non-dairy milk might not froth as well as regular milk so you might not get the signature foam of a chai tea lattee in a vegan one.
