One of the sure signs of spring in the South is the Masters golf tournament at Augusta National and its magnificent display of azaleas blanketing the flower beds around the course!

You don’t even have to be a golf fan to be blown away by the beauty of this course which is unparalleled in its azalea show with over 30 varieties when they are in full bloom in all shades of pink.

And what better way to soak up this view on a lovely spring day (even if only on tv) than by sipping on an Azalea, the signature cocktail served at the Masters? This light and refreshing pink drink served during the tournament is aptly named after the gorgeous pink azaleas that surround hole number 13, their display making this hole one of the most famous in golf!

What’s in an Azalea cocktail.
Ingredients to make Azalea cocktail

The Azalea is made up of vodka, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. It’s light and fruity and oh so delicious!! The splash of grenadine (a pomegranate flavored mixer) gives this golf cocktail its “pretty in azalea pink” color.

I’ve shared the recipe at the bottom of the post in ratios instead of exact measurements to make it simple to adjust for the amount you’d like to make. This drink is well suited for any quantity from a single serving straight up in a martini or coupe glass to big batches made ahead of time for a Masters themed get together. I’ve used it as my signature cocktail a couple of times for golf parties and it’s always a hit!

Ratios can be tinkered with to your taste and you can even substitute gin for the vodka. Serve it up in any glass that shows off its azalea pink color and enjoy!
