What could be more inviting than the warming sensation of an Old Fashioned?! Now enjoy this delightful drink with a brown sugar simple syrup to kick things up a notch ;) This is the perfect cocktail for sitting by the fireplace with your loved ones or playing cards with friends.

The molasses in the brown sugar adds to the smokiness in the bourbon. It’s a “sweet” combination! 😆

Once you get close to this drink you will smell the sweet citrusy aroma of the orange peel. This drink is the perfect combination of citrus, Smokey, savory and lightly sweet.

Shaken or stirred there is no wrong way to make this drink. The smokiness of the bourbon and savory of the brown sugar syrup kicks this old fashioned up a notch! It’s hard to get the right experience of this drink without the fresh orange peel and the premium cherry on the bottom.

And there you have a wonderful weekend end drink to sit by the fire and enjoy the company of others! Prost!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 8 oz. bourbon
  • Angostori Bitters
  • orange
  • Premium cherries
  • ice
Instructions

Start by making the brown sugar simple syrup. You could do this in two ways. You can either take a 1/4 cup of water in a coffee mug and microwave on high for 2 minutes or you could boil the water in a small pot. A simple syrup is equal parts water and sugar. Heat up the water enough to fully dissolve the sugar and set aside to cool.
Add a large ice into 4 short cocktail glasses. Add one cherry per glass.
In a shaker, add some ice, bourbon, 12 shakes of the bitters, 4 tsp. brown sugar syrup and shake about 10 seconds. Pour evenly into the 4 glasses. Using a peeler, peel a small slice of orange rind, gently squeeze in half skin side up and go around the rim of the glass with the orange oil that comes out. Gently twist the orange rind and place it into each glass.
Enjoy! 🥃
