My youngest daughter really likes Peppermint Bark. In the beginning, I would just buy the Costco brand of Peppermint Bark and all was good. One year at school, I got a bunch of candy canes and well, the rest is history. I have been making my own Peppermint Bark ever since.

Melt your chips

I use parchment paper on a 13 x 9 jelly roll pan and use binder clips to hold it in place. I then spread the chocolate into the pan. And freeze it for about 5 minutes or until it hardens.

Crushing Candy Canes

As I wait for the chocolate to harden, I melt the white chocolate and crush the candy canes. My rolling pin is perfect for crushing those candy canes.

Who doesn't love Peppermint Bark?

The waiting is the hardest part in making this dessert. The minute it is done, I break right into to it! So easy to make and always a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 1-12 oz bag Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1-12 oz bag White Chocolate Chips
  • 7- medium Candy Canes
Instructions

Get pan ready by lining a 9 x 13 pan/cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with parchment paper. Melt the semi sweet chocolate chips in a double boiler pan. Once melted, pour and spread into prepared pan. Place in the freezer for about 5 minutes or until it hardens.
Place candy canes in a bag and break them up with rolling pin. Once done, set aside.
Melt white chocolate chips in double boiler pan. Once melted, remove from heat. Add some candy cane chunks right into the melted white chocolate and set aside.
Remove semi sweet chocolate pan from freezer. Pour melted white chocolate on top of semi sweet frozen chocolate. Spread white chocolate over all of the semi sweet chocolate. The white chocolate should cover all of the dark chocolate.
Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top of the white chocolate, covering as much of the white chocolate as possible. Put pan back into the freezer and let harden for approximately 2.5 hours.
Once harden, break apart into pieces and enjoy!
