If you have never tried Baked Brie, you need to! It’s one of my favorite appetizers to serve for the holidays. It’s rich and decadent and everyone seems to enjoy it. There is something about the sweet and savory flavors that will have you going back for more. Apples and cheese pair so well together it’s no wonder that this hot dip tastes incredible. It’s super easy to whip up and can be prepped ahead of time. There are so many different toppings you can add to the Brie but this twist on a classic has to be my favorite.

This is what the Brie will look like once you unwrap it. There is a thick white rind around it and inside is a mild soft cheese. The rind is completely edible and will keep all of the melted cheesy goodness contained until you are ready to serve.

This is a beautiful appetizer that will add a special touch to any holiday table.

Serve it with some savory crackers, melba toast or baguette slices.

I prefer to use “sturdier” crackers that won’t flake or crumble when dipped.

How scrumptious!

Ingredients
For the apples
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1tsp brown sugar
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1 thinly sliced green apple
For the Brie
  • 1 Brie Wheel (any size)
  • Caramel Sauce
Instructions
For the Apples
Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium low heat.
Add in the brown sugar and wait until melted. If you like to add a bit more flavor you can add in a rosemary sprig to the melted butter as the apples are cooking. Discard the rosemary before serving.
Add the thinly sliced apples and cool until soft.
For the Brie
Preheat oven to 350
Line a baking dish with parchment paper and place the Brie on it. Spread a small amount of butter over the top of the Brie.
Bake in the oven until the cheese inside is melted. The time will vary depending on the size of the Brie wheel. Usually it will take 10-12 minutes.
Once the cheese has melted remove from the oven and arrange the apple slices over it. Drizzle with the caramel sauce and enjoy!
Tips
  • You could also add some slivered almonds, nuts or cranberry to the Brie.

I served this with a baguette. Who am I kidding???...I ate the whole thing by myself. I took me all through 'White Christmas'. Great with a Pinot Grigio.

The sprig of rosemary makes this!
