These are my Grandma’s recipe, and I have great memories standing in her kitchen on a stepstool helping roll these in sugar. They have become quite a family favorite, and my new daughter-in-law just asked for the recipe. I’ve loved watching these become a family tradition!

Ingredients
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. Salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. cocoa powder
  • 2 t. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • ¼ t. coffee diluted in 1 tsp. hot water
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ c. oil
  • 1 c. confectioner’s sugar
Instructions
Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. (Do not add confectioner's sugar)
In another bowl, combine wet ingredients and mix well.
Combine all ingredients, mix well. Refrigerate for 1 - 2 hours.
Remove from fridge. Put confectioner's sugar in a small bowl. Roll cookies by hand into balls and roll in confectioner's sugar.
Place rolled cookies on cookie sheet, 12 to a sheet. Place in pre-heated oven (350 degrees). Bake for 15 minutes, until "cracked" on top.
Cool and enjoy!
Tips
  • You can substitute one vanilla sugar packet for the vanilla.
