Dumplings are one of those foods that are just as much fun to make as they are to eat. There is something about pinching the wrapper and smelling the aroma in the house as they steam that warms you up in anticipation for the meal. These Orange Chicken Dumplings will surely do just that. While we could eat classic steamed dumplings on a daily basis, we chose to incorporate another favorite asian dish in these dumplings. Check out the recipe below and let us know how you like them!

Start this Orange Chicken Dumpling recipe by making the dumpling sauce. In a sauce pan over medium heat add 2 tbsp of rice vinegar and 1 tsp of garlic. After a minute or two, add in the soy sauce, grated ginger, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and bring to heat. Once simmering, add in the brown sugar mix until it dissolves and then stir in the fresh orange juice. Let the dumpling sauce come to a simmer before adding in you tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp of water. Mix well with the sauce, lower the heat and cook until sauce becomes your desired thickness. Take off heat and let cool.

Once the sauce is cooled, mix half of the sauce well with the green onion and ground chicken. Let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minute before assembling the dumplings. Lay out the dumpling wrappers and scoop the chicken mixture on the middle of each wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrappers with water and pinch shut. Using a bamboo steamer or another kitchen steamer bring a pot of water to a boil. Place the dumplings into your steamer per the steamers instructions and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Remove from the steamer and serve with the remaining dumpling sauce.

I think I see where you're going with this, but you better check the order of your steps.

Is the ground chicken cooked before you put in dumplings or does the steaming cook the meat? Sounds yummy
